At Column Five, designers are many things: they are hyper-creative visual artists; they are lovers of beautiful information design; they are technologically adept, self-motivated and generally excited about life.

Day-to-day, they work with our Producers, Art Directors and fellow designers to produce results-driven creative. This includes:

  • Designing content, from sketch to final deliverable
  • Making edits to others' work and critiquing others' work
  • Concepting original design treatments
  • Creating various collateral, both for our clients and for our company
  • Collaborating with other team members to produce the best design possible
  • Offering input and feedback throughout design rounds
  • Enjoying a nice beer on Fridays

Requirements

  • Must be a very strong illustrator with strong typographic and layout skills for this current job opening. If this does not describe you, this position is not a fit for you.
  • The ability to work independently and solve problems
  • Ability to concept and execute innovative approaches to projects
  • An eye for detail and a stomach for timelines and budget adherence
  • It's essential have advanced skills and experience in Adobe Illustrator, any motion design skills are a huge plus to your candidacy
  • Education in graphic design (or a related field)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in an agency or design studio or related professional design position. We are not looking for an intern or entry-level designer, you must have professional experience and strong portfolio. 
  • We are ideally looking for someone who can illustrate extremely well, havs solid design chops to work independently and who has done enough client work to be a reliable team player
